kaph (the palm of one’s hand) is a site-specific installation by American artist Ann Hamilton for the Contemporary Arts Museum’s Brown Foundation Gallery.  Known for her poetic, material laden installations, Hamilton’s art involves all the senses—vision, touch, smell, hearing, and even taste—assailing viewers from a variety of approaches and inviting them to share the artist’s singular, metaphorical vision.  The catalogue includes an essay by Lynn M. Herbert and documentation on the artist’s career.
