Anti-Landfill Trash Lab with Gleeson Ryan
About
Get motivated to see plastic waste differently–and keep more of it out of the landfill!
Inspired by the Teen Council 14th biennial exhibition, OUT OF STOCK’s theme questioning consumer culture, visitors are invited to repurpose plastic trash into a colorful storage container.
Learn to repurpose discarded plastic bags into “plarn” aka “plastic yarn” and then create a container you can take home. Visitors are encouraged to make a useful vessel such as a vase, ring dish, plant hanger, or other decorative object that will be made up of discarded plastic bags, bottles, and other detritus from your recycle bin.
Materials are provided on a first come, first served basis. We encourage participants to bring their own bottles, colorful plastic bags, and plastic scraps for extra fun.
