SON BAYOÚ is a Colombian cumbia band founded by Ramiro Rodriguez and Juan Torres. The two met during junior high in 2009 and caught interest in cumbia music together. With  Rodriguez on accordion and Torres on drums, they both went down the rabbit hole of exploring the genre, found a community of people who shared their interest, and played at the flea market on Airline Boulevard every Sunday with their street band, Kumbia Sabanera, for 5 or 6 years. By 2019, they officially formed.... SON BAYOÚ.

Ramiro Rodriguez and Juan Torres, the masterminds behind SONIDO BAYOÚ, are more than just musicians - they're also avid cumbia collectors. Their journey began in the early 2000s, scouring the internet for rare cumbia MP3s. This often meant venturing down digital rabbit holes, risking computer viruses, all for a glimpse of an elusive track.

As their collection grew, they started burning CDs and selling them at the Sunny Flea Market. These humble beginnings laid the foundation for their extensive vinyl collection, carefully curated over the years with a focus on cumbia and Colombian rhythms.

Today, SONIDO BAYOÚ is driven by a passion for celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Latin America. Through their music and vinyl collection, Rodriguez and Torres continue to share their love for cumbia and Colombian music with the world.

Ice House Radio (IHR) is a Houston- based internet radio station founded in January, 2024. IHR started its broadcasts out of a Sprinter Van, and that still defines the DIY nature of what Ice House Radio is about. From its inception, Ice House Radio has relied on deep partnerships with DJs, producers, musicians, and artists in coordination with cultural, arts/community spaces in order to showcase the possibilities of live internet radio broadcasting in Houston. Ice House Radio provides a unifying space - both physically and virtually - for the diversity of incredible sounds that define the disparate parts of Houston's music scene.
