This San Antonio-based artist integrates the disc-jockey practice of sampling into three-dimensional mixed-media compositions. Among other components, Robleto often incorporates actual melted vinyl records into his installations and sculptures. Highly influenced by the world of popular music, Robleto uses the history of popular music and its signature musicians to critique issues related to ideas of originality and reproduction in the visual arts, as well as broader questions concerning science and technology. The catalogue includes an essay by Paola Morsiani and documentation on the artist’s career.
