About the Artist

Based in Houston, Texas, Jasmine Zelaya is a multi-disciplinary, Latinx artist exploring themes of identity. She received her BFA in Painting in 2006, and in 2008, she was awarded a residency through the Charlotte Street Foundation’s Urban Culture Project, in Kansas City, Missouri. Her work has been included in several publications, including as a featured cover artist for New American Paintings. Zelaya’s visually lush and colorful public works can be found throughout the Houston landscape. Her installation entitled Sugar Water is currently on view at Project Row Houses in Houston.
