Come view Margarita, with a Straw featuring a rebellious young woman (played by Kalki Koechlin) with cerebral palsy as she leaves her home in India to study in New York City. This coming-of-age story shows an unexpected love story and follows the lead character on a journey of self-discovery. Shown in conjunction with the exhibition Dissent and Desire, this film shares an intimate story of an Indian girl’s everyday life in India while also exploring issues around ability, sexuality, friendship, and family.
