Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH)’s Teen Council is a highly collaborative creative incubator that provides High School students grades 10-12 with opportunities in leadership, visual literacy, and life skill development. During weekly meetings, the Teen Council members are introduced to the inner workings of museums and to the dynamic Houston arts community.
Teen Council is for artists and all types of arts enthusiasts. You need not be an artist to apply. Once accepted, all Teen Council members become paid employees of CAMH and are required to attend weekly after-school meetings.
This application will be open from March 17–April 12, 2021 at 11:59PM. Applicants will be notified of next steps on Wednesday, April 22, 2021. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and are considered as they arrive.
About CAMH’s Teen Council
The Teen Council is a group of dedicated high-school students who are employed by the museum to create programming for their peers. Council members participate in a two year-long program where they receive in-depth, behind-the-scenes museum experience; learn about pathways to creative careers; and develop leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking skills while gaining real-world experience planning exhibitions and events in a museum setting. Applications to CAMH’s Teen Council are available at camh.org Spring 2021.
