Performance

Cuando mis palabras se volvieron miel / When my words turned honey

January 19, 2023 | 6:30PM - 7:30PM

About

Visit the Museum for a live performance of Cuando mis palabras se volvieron miel / When my words turned honey.

Cuando mis palabras se volvieron miel / When my words turned honey explores both listening as a political act and sound as a physical entity that can permeate through solid objects and monolithic narratives. Led and performed by artist Saúl Hernández-Vargas to a score written in collaboration with Mexican composer Miguel Ángel Frausto Anchondo, this performance will consist of a live activation of instruments and readings in both English and Spanish that extend the concept of listening in context of precariousness and systemic violence. Hernández-Vargas will be joined by collaborators Maribel Bello and Alejandro García for this program.

This program is in conjunction with the exhibition, Troy Montes Michie: Rock of Eye, on view at CAMH through January 29, 2023.
