Celebrate the second year of Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH)’s Teacher Advisory Group (TAG) with a special pop-up exhibition that features work from both students and teachers.

The Teacher Advisory Group consists of 14 Houston Independent School District (HISD) teachers and one teacher from the Imani School who work in schools across the city. The group came together to share their knowledge and experience with CAMH, Transforming Self; Together is a culmination of that year of work. The art on view spans a variety of themes including memory, identity, legacy, and provocation with a wide range of media spanning installation, textiles, painting, sculpture, photography, and performance.

About Teacher Advisory Group

Launched in October 2021, CAMH’s Teacher Advisory Group is a cohort of highly motivated and passionate teachers. The group was created for teachers to share their knowledge and experience with CAMH staff in shaping future programs and vision within the Education and Public Programs department. The Teacher Advisory Group provides strategic recommendations, support in writing exhibition-specific materials, and advocates for CAMH’s programs within their classrooms, schools, and community. Learn more about the group here.
