About

Join us for the opening of Teen Council’s 14th biennial exhibition, OUT OF STOCK In celebration of 25 years of CAMH’s Teen Council program.

OUT OF STOCK is a group exhibition featuring work by over 25 Houston-area teen artists including experimental video, photography, large-scale painting, soft sculpture, found-objects-assemblage, prescription medicine, and more.

Houston-area teens submitted work in response to the subject of consumption and its effects on teens, publics, the planet, and ourselves. This theme examines consumption as the impulse of physical, and digital absorption; as reflective of one’s identity; and responsive to the greater structures of our world: technology, convention, capitalism, exploitation, waste, war, the body, digital/natural landscape, climate emergency, and the self.

ABC Bodyart will be face painting guests on a first come first serve basis in our Brown Foundation Gallery. Music provided by DJ Taye.

Fun and fresh snacks will be available for purchase on-site through El Deleite.

The public opening reception is free to attend, but RSVPs are encouraged. CAMH members will get a private first look at the exhibition during the Member Preview from 6–7PM.
