June 24, 2023 | 1:00PM - 4:00PM

About

Spend a summer afternoon indoors and explore CAMH’s current exhibitions through a variety of hands-on activities!

List of Activities
Drop-In Experience | Photographic Storytelling | 1–4PM
Take inspiration from the exhibition, Ming Smith: Feeling the Future, create a portrait to convey a personal story or idea, real or fantasized, through assemblage or collage.

Drop-In Experience | Sticker and Button Making | 1–4PM
Express your style by designing your own stickers and buttons inspired by the exhibition, Where Do We Go From Here?

Photo Booth | Instant Photography Mobile Studio | 1–4PM
Swing by Mich Martinez’s Instant Photography Mobile Studio for a unique polaroid, Martinez’s mobile studio is a laboratory of light that explores different angles and perspectives of the subject in one single frame. Multiple exposures, textures, and colors make his instant photographs a unique experience with surprising results.

Community Partner | Harris County Public Library | 1–4PM
Having fun isn’t hard when you’ve got a library card! The Harris County Public Library will be creating full-access library cards onsite and providing information about theiro services, programs, and locations. With a Knowledge Card, guests have free and total access to the library’s ever-growing collections of books and DVDs, streaming video and music, eBooks and eAudiobooks, and their second-to-none selection of online research and learning tools.

Community Partner | Sports Film Fest | 1–4PM
Sports Film Fest will present aspects of their Dream Big educational platform and their animated film and book series, Josh’s Inspirational Journeys. At 2PM, former Texas A&M and Green Bay Packer football player Michael Montgomery will present his animated film.

Sports Film Fest will also have creativity pages from the What Drives Your Dreams? campaign around Porsche. Visitors can design “their car” as a reflection of who they are and what their dreams are, using color and design elements to define their individuality.

Performance | Aurum Son | 3–4PM
Enjoy a performance by Aurum Son featuring through-composed original songs that will open up to sound exploration. Taking notes from Sun Ran and avant-garde Jazz, the themes in which they compose are outer space, the spirit warrior journey, spiritual alchemy and transformation.
