Queer Teen Night
About
LGBTQ+ teens and allies are invited to an evening of food, music, and art, inspired by the exhibitions OUT OF STOCK and Tomashi Jackson: Across the Universe. Meet queer teens across Houston, join teen-led drop-in tours of the galleries, and take a chance at winning CAMHShop merch in a free raffle!
Style a utility belt to take home with De La Nada Queer Collective and dance to the sounds of DJ Armarji King. Be sure to visit with our Community Partners to learn about community-centered resources and services from TSU S.H.A.P.E. Initiative (TSI).
Free and open to all LGBTQ+ teens and allies, ages 14+.
Please bring your school ID for entry.

Get Your Look Down: Utility Belts for Your Chaotic Stuff Situation
What do you do with your wallet, keys, phone, AirPods, snacks, and all the important stuff when your hands need to be free? MAKE YOURSELF A UTILITY BELT!
De La Nada Queer Collective is here to help you turn old jeans into the most functional accessory you never knew you needed. Because who has time for purses or murses when you're busy being fabulous?
Think Tank Girl meets everyday practicality. De La Nada Queer Collective will show you the "peace flag" style - super easy to fit and totally customizable. Want minimal and sleek? Cool. Want to go absolutely wild with buttons, chains, and patches? Even better.
No experience needed - just bring your weird, wonderful self and get ready to destroy some denim in the most satisfying way possible. This isn't your typical craft project - it's functional rebellion.
You'll learn skills you can use forever while hanging out with people who get that sometimes the best stuff comes from the most unexpected places.
What to bring:
- Jeans that fit your waist (thrift store treasures work perfectly!)
- Fabric scissors (the sharper the better)
We've got everything else - decorative chaos, safety pins, markers, and whatever else we can find to make your belt absolutely perfect for you.
Come ready to express yourself and walk away with something nobody else has.
Community Partners
