Scavenger Hunt for Texture | Drop-In Experience

Inspired by the exhibition Wild Life: Elizabeth Murray & Jessi Reaves, explore your surroundings by completing a scavenger hunt of textures.

Instructions

01. DISCOVER

The work of artists Elizabeth Murray and Jessi Reaves, is rich in both visual and physical texture. At CAMH, explore the exhibition to look closely at the works of art, and the CAMH plaza when searching outside. At home, you can explore different places inside and outside where you can safely touch and examine your surroundings.

02. LOOK INSIDE

As you explore inside, look for any of the following textures:

  • Soft
  • Hard
  • Coarse
  • Bumpy
  • Crocheted
  • Fuzzy

As you first notice each texture, can you guess what material it could be made of? Make a list of additional textures you find to add to this list.

03. INVESTIGATE OUTSIDE

Safely explore outside to locate any of the following textures:

  • Smooth
  • Rough
  • Dry
  • Wet
  • Slippery
  • Sticky

How are the textures outside different from the textures you noticed inside? Can you find additional textures to add to this list?

Take a picture of your favorite textures and share your images with CAMH. #MuseumFromHome #ConnectWithCAMH | @camhouston
