Spring Break Drawing Outpost at Aurora Picture Show
About
Join CAMH at Aurora Picture Show for a drop-in drawing outpost inspired by CAMH’s exhibition Tomashi Jackson: Across the Universe and focusing on drawing-based art-making activities with artist and CAMH FAQ Team member, Carlos Mendoza.
Portratos en Azul with Carlos Mendoza
"Portratos en Azul" is a hands-on workshop blending portrait photography, drawing, and cyanotype. Participants will have their portraits taken, reinterpret them through drawing on transparencies, and create cyanotype prints. The workshop explores transformation, layering, and visual reinterpretation, aligning with Tomashi Jackson’s themes.
Workshop Timeline:
1–2PM: Portraits taken, printed, and drawn on transparency.
2–3PM: Cyanotype exposure, layering.
3–4PM: Additional prints, reflection.
All supplies will be provided.
Attendees of each workshop are invited to choose one drawing that will be on view in CAMH’s Cullen Education Resource Room for the duration of the Spring Break Community Celebration.
Join us for only one or all of our Spring Break Drawing Outposts. Guests 16 or younger must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or other responsible adult. RSVP is required. Registration for the Aurora Picture Show Drawing Outpost does not register you for all 3. Explore the other Drawing Outposts:
