Join artist Donna Crump for a community dance and movement workshop at the historic DeLUXE Theater located in the 5th Ward Cultural Arts District.
This program is part of a series of dance workshops presented in conjunction with the exhibition, Ming Smith: Feeling the Future. Each workshop is led by a different local choreographer. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Workshop Description
This workshop is a connected high-energy, athletic movement-based class that examines finding mental and emotional balance through dance. Participants will express themselves through somatics and the universal movements of dance. The class encourages practices of finding balance, grounding, and creating social emotional connections as participants may find themselves creating with one another. As the class progresses, the physicalities and sequential movements of the human body are explored as they are applied in movement and everyday life.
