About Art Car Parade Day and the Kid Zone

The Art Car Parade is the highlight of a week-long celebration, and will feature over 250 rolling masterpieces that will attract close to 350,000 spectators. This parade is the oldest and largest art car spectacle in the world, and one of the most unique and beloved events in Houston.

An important part of parade is our Kids Zone located in Sam Houston Park - a space where art, learning, and play collide in the most magical ways. With your passion and creativity, we’ll transform Sam Houston Park into a wonderland where families can paint murals, create mini art cars, build cardboard cities, and experience the joy of hands-on discovery.
