Here, artist Vincent Valdez speaks about his drawings series Amnesia.

Amnesia is an ongoing series of drawings which blends images based on reality, imagination, and memory. I begin each image by taking an entirely different approach in the studio. I close my eyes, and take a mental snapshot of the very first image that floats up to the surface and across my mind. Without any second guessing, planning, or researching any further, I quickly begin these images rooted in my memory. Next, I set a timer beside my pencil sharpener. These drawings based from my visual memory are a race against time. Blurring the lines between observation and invention allow me to consider my own aging memory. At age 47, it is a new experience for me to wonder which of my closest memories are still accurate, distorted or lost.

Amnesia (Amnesia) es una serie de dibujos que se está realizando y que combina imágenes basadas en la realidad, la imaginación y la memoria.
